Tulsa Network Solutions

I've been consulting for firms and providing technology solutions since 1993. My first "IT" work was helping the founder of the first ISP in Tulsa (Galaxy Star Systems, aka galstar.com) set up his services, including UNIX servers, the dial up server for SLIP/PPP access, and his Cisco routing hardware. We went from a simple 56K connection to multiple DS3 connections over the years using BGP protocol for resiliance. Sadly the owner passed away and the ISP disappeared into history with him. My other bit of notoriety and coincidentally my favorite job was running the BBS and eventually IT for Creative Labs (the Sound Blaster people) back in the 1990's.

My fondest memories getting into technology are working on the TI-99/4A, writing a number of software applications, and building/fixing firmware for a number of companies. The most popular software became the standard program for file compression for the TI, but my favorite was building my own Z-code interpreter for the TI (to run Infocom software) which enabled porting about a dozen additional games to the TI over the years. I still dabble on TI related projects if I have time, but admittedly that has been rare in recent years. Maybe when I retire, if that ever happens.

So this site is for me to eventually share my fun projects, or random thoughts on things.
